EL PRADO EN VOL.
The objective of the call for applications is the creation of a 3D design based on an artistic work from the National Prado Museum.
Our proposal is based on the reinterpretation of the work of Hieronymus Hieronymus: Table of Deadly Sins, which is exhibited in room 056A of the Museo Nacional del Prado. It is a work done in oil on a 139.5 cm poplar wood panel.
The piece made by the master's students in collaboration with the teaching staff is a table with a top made of transparent laser-cut methacrylate that allows you to see the internal circuitry. On the envelope a vinyl printed with the reinterpretation of the painting. The legs, with period ornamentation in contrast to the methacrylate and contemporary circuitry, have been 3D printed with white PETG-type filament.
The reinterpretation of the theme: the deadly sins is based on an idea by the founder of LinkedIn, Reid Hoffman, who in 2011 presented his thesis according to which social networks work when they represent one of the seven deadly sins and to illustrate it he then associated an application or network each one of them. Nowadays, new social networks have already appeared but it would seem that their thesis is still valid. In this piece, envy has been associated with Instagram, anger with Twitter (now more widespread.
In this way, we added to each of the sins the logo of the associated network made of transparent laser-cut methacrylate to redefine them for a contemporary, young audience, for whom the scenes chosen by Hieronymus no longer represent capital sins or sins. not even sins, simply.
